5 Ideas for Your Adventure Elopement - No Hiking Required!

A 4x4 Tour

What’s the best way to see the most scenery and explore the most you can in just one day? Get a Jeep and go for a ride! There are so many rugged mountain roads that are just begging to be explored - but without the right vehicle, it can be difficult to do so. Whether you rent a 4x4 and take it for a spin on your own, or you hire a professional driver to take you around, you’ll be able to see the most gorgeous spots on those roads less traveled.

With a 4x4 elopement, you’ll be able to see so much more scenery and so many more different views than you would on a hike. If you don’t have much experience driving through bumpy mountain roads, hiring a professional could be the right move. Not only that, but when you hire a 4x4 driver, you’ll also get all their experience and knowledge. They’ll know all the right turns to take and all the right roads to tackle to get you the best views on your elopement day.

A Helicopter Elopement

There are so many beautiful places, and as an elopement photographer I’ve seen so many incredible landscapes and gorgeous sunsets. But, imagine seeing all of those amazing landscapes from up in the air, looking down at the vastness of the scenery below you. Then, imagine landing on the mountain or the glacier you were just looking at. And then, imagine zipping from location to location and experiencing this magic over and over, all with no hiking required.

When you turn your adventure elopement into a helicopter elopement, you get to experience views that you wouldn’t get anywhere else. And the best part? You get the scenery all to yourself!

National Park Elopement

I know what you’re thinking, “I thought you said no hiking?” But hear me out. National parks are actually some of the best places to visit if you want some epic scenery without having to do any hiking! As soon as you enter any national park, there are pullouts and overlooks at practically every turn. National Parks offer so many beautiful places to elope, and so many of them are low effort, high reward! In Glacier National Park, you can pull right up to several glacial lakes. In Yellowstone, drive up to out of this world geysers. In Olympic National Park, you can see entire mountain ranges right from the parking lot!

You don’t need to go on a six mile hike to have an adventure elopement in one of the US national parks. If you want more info on planning a national park elopement, check out this blog post!

Camping Elopement

How nice would it be to spend your entire elopement day out in nature? You can camp in national parks or state parks, but if you want something more off the beaten path (and free), national forest and Bureau of Land Management land offers tons of free campsites, with many of them being incredibly beautiful.

Without having to do any hiking, you can wake up in a gorgeous location, spend the morning getting ready together, say your vows in the beautiful spot you chose, and end the day with a sunset. All without going anywhere!

Airbnb Elopement

I know you’ve seen all the A-frame cabin porn on Instagram! On Airbnb.com, you can find anything from small, two person cabins to huge chalets that can accommodate your entire family. Airbnbs make the perfect setting for your adventure elopement, because you can start and end your day in the same place! No hiking or long drives.

An Airbnb elopement is perfect if you want to invite a few guests to the party, and when you’re looking for a place to stay on their website, you can even filter your search to only see cabins, or places with hot tubs, fireplaces, and more!
