A lot of people still think of elopements as something couples do when they donāt want to spend time or money on their wedding - when they want a quick courthouse ceremony and nothing more. but as an adventure elopement photographer, Iām here to tell you thatās not what itās about!
What is an Adventure Elopement?
So if an elopement isnāt a five-minute ceremony with a judge in black robesā¦ what is it?
The truth is that an adventure elopement is whatever you want it to be! and I mean literally - whatever you want it to be. eloping means being intentional in planning your wedding day, and thinking about what you want to do when you get married. instead of looking at whatās traditional and expected, and modeling your wedding after the thousands of Martha Stewart-Esque big white weddings, you do things your way!
You can keep any traditions that you like - and toss out any that you donāt. Put your twist on the traditions, like having your first dance around a campfire or pairing your wedding dress with hiking boots, or make entirely new ones! an adventure elopement is all about you, and what would make this day the best day ever.

A lot of couples are a little lost when it comes to planning their elopement - when there are so many possibilities and no set rules when you can truly do whatever you want, it can be hard to know where to begin!

I live to give couples an experience beyond just amazing photos, I want to give you something so beautiful and unique so the two of you can relive all those magical feelings for the rest of your lives.
My style is adventurous, fun and laidback and my approach is a combination of documenting emotion, candid moments and giving a bit of direction where needed to be able to capture the two of you in the most authentic and natural way possible.

One of the first things Iāll do as an adventure elopement photographer is give you a personalized, totally custom list of location recommendations! every couple is different, and every adventure elopement experience is different - so this list will be made just for you, with spots that fit what youāre looking for, whether thatās hikes in the mountains or easily accessible beaches, or anything in between.
elopement permit help:
After youāve got a location picked out, Iāll help you figure out what permits you need! the rules are different for every place, so it gets confusing - but donāt worry, Iāve done this before.
vendors, lodging, and things to do:
Next, Iāll give you some recommendations for other elopement vendors, places to stay near your location, and things we can do during your adventure elopement! Youāll get all my best elopement tips and tricks, and make sure you have everything you need.
Iāll give you a list of elopement vendors that I know will help make your elopement day go smoothly, some ideas for places to stay - whether youāre looking for campgrounds or resorts, and some recommendations of fun things to do near your ceremony spot that would make for an epic day.

Before the big day, Iāll make an elopement timeline - this will go over what weāre doing and where weāre going, but itās a lot less strict than a timeline for a traditional wedding. thereās always room for flexibility and spontaneity, but the timeline gives us an idea of how the day will go!
the day of:
After all that planning, itās time to elope! As your adventure elopement photographer, Iāll be by your side for all the fun, cheering you on throughout the day. Iām there with the camera to capture everything, and Iām there with extra bobby pins and puns for days. Your photos are only going to be as good as the experience you have, so iām all about making sure you have a fucking blast!

Your adventure elopement can be just the two of you, or it can include your loved ones! The point of eloping is that you get to make all the decisions - and that includes who you want next to you on your big day.
is it just a long photoshoot?
A lot of couples worry that an all day elopement means posing for photos for 8 hours - but thatās not the case at all! An adventure elopement photographer should be there to make your experience incredible, and to capture real, authentic photos of that experience.
what will we do during an adventure elopement?
During your adventure elopement, what you do is all about what reflects you and your partner, and how you want to begin your marriage! you can hike, climb, swim, paddleā¦ the list is endless!
do we have to hike to our elopement location?
Youāve seen those photos of couples on top of mountains, and if a long hike isnāt your thing, or thatās not how you imagine your day, donāt worry! You can totally have an adventure elopement without hiking. There are plenty of gorgeous places that are easily accessible, and adventures arenāt about the most epic views or the most wild experiences. an adventure can be a picnic at your favorite park, an easy trail, a kayaking excursion - anything that makes your heart sing!
